2011 Triumph Sprint GT Review

Triumph is a name to be reckoned with in bikes and it is following a design much like other models that need to cater to a demand for better comfort and amenities. It has broadened the waistline of the Sprint GT Triple in the 2011 version and the older model Sprint Tourer (Sprint ST) is now the 2011 Grand Tourer, Sprint GT. It now has more cargo room and a ride that is plusher. This, however, does not cause it to lose respectability as a ‘canyon carver with bags.’

Part of the reason for its heightened status in bikes is the fact that the wheelbase is 3.2 inches longer than the former 57.3 inch wheelbase. Now at 60.5 inches its styling is ultra modern and has truly updated the old ST which stayed static for five years running. The one drawback is that the bike is now a full 60 pounds heavier which adds at least 10 pounds of curb weight over the previous version, and it now weighs approximately 591 pounds when fully fueled.

All the reviews are in and it seems that the consensus is that Triumph’s Sprint GT will make a great day to day bike for commuting, grocery shopping or as a weekender. It accommodates two riders quite well and is extremely reasonably priced at under $14k. Because of the panniers, chain drive, center stand that is included and stock ABS, it is a class of its own and competition is sure to be slim to none.
